For more than 40 years I have called this area home. It’s where I was raised, educated, and reared in a life of community and public service. My wife Maria and I are life-long residents of the 24th Ohio House District where we are proudly raising our four children. We are excited about my candidacy for the Ohio House of Representatives because this is the community that has given our family everything.

My eight years as a leading Member of the Upper Arlington City Council is experience I will count on in the work ahead. My personal record of accomplishment as a youth coach and neighborhood volunteer will guide me every day as your State Representative.

Job Description:

•Congressman Pat Tiberi is in need of motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate students for an unpaid internship with his Washington D.C. office. By assisting the Congressman and staff, interns have the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of how a congressional office and the legislative process operate. Interns can arrange to receive academic credit for their work. Internship program is open to all students regardless of major.
Openings:
•Internships are available for spring and summer semesters/quarters.

Requirements:
• The intern should be able to work approximately 20 hours a week during the hours of 9:00-5:00. Internships can be coordinated with your class schedule.
• The intern should be proficient with Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook and Excel.
•The intern should have sound communication skills and be able to write well. Strong people skills are a must.
• The intern should work well under deadlines and have the ability to learn new information quickly.
•Anyone interested should submit a resume, 1 page writing sample, and an intern application form. The intern application form may be found at www.tiberi.house.gov under constituent services.

The COA 2008 Republican National Convention Internship Program

INTERNSHIP APPLICATION

The COA 2008 Republican National Convention Internship Program offers college students a unique opportunity to participate in the preparation and planning of a quadrennial event that will be showcased on an international level as the Republican Party highlights its strong principles and nominates the next President of the United States. Please note that COA interns are unpaid. Receiving academic credit from the internship is contingent upon your University or College. The intern program will run from June 2 to conclusion of the convention on September 4.

All applicants must submit the following completed application materials together by March 14, 2008:

  • Current resume
To be eligible an applicant must be:
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university, or have graduated the previous semester
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Willing and able to stay until the end of the convention period (September 4, 2008)

Announcing Travis Secrest for Stark County Commissioner

Travis has lived and worked in Stark County all of his life. He knows the importance of open, effective government and what must be done to bring this to Stark County. He is looking for dedicated individuals who want to expand their knowledge of the political process.

This campaign will be focused on issues such as stimulating the economy, enhancing public safety and creating an ethical and open county government. In the heightened political climate, this experience will be both educational and memorable.

POSITION TITLE: Campaign Intern

DUTIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: Depending on the qualifications of the applicant, duties may include: campaign event scheduling/research, grassroots efforts, door-to-door efforts, phone bank efforts, and volunteer coordination.

HOURS: Flexible, minimum, maximum hours per week. Students may be able to use internship for academic credit.

REQUIREMENTS: Excellent writing and communication skills, knowledge of computer applications such as Windows XP, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.

Phone Banking for McCain

Hi there,

The McCain Campaign could really use your help in the coming days identifying voters and recruiting supporters to join our team. The more people we identify now, the better off we will be once the general election campaign begins. Any time you can spare helping us with phone calls in our local office will be a huge help. We are currently renting space in the Ohio Republican Party Building located at 211 South 5th Street in Columbus.
